That is simply not his strength. He should focus on winning time trials in the TDF, other main Tours and of course things like the olympics, world championships, &c. He seems to crash a lot though. But man can he hammer the TTs when he stays upright. If Basso hadn't been tossed from the TDF this year they would have flat out dominated it.
