No, it was not a flat tour at all. He is not much of a climber, but he is far from being the worst in the peleton either.

Yeah, I did not hear a lot about Floyd Landis anymore. Did you hear more about that mess after the second drug test?

Zabriskie is a potential world and olympic champion. If he does what he can he will win prices for the US.

I didn't realize how big Zabriskie was, it'd have to be a pretty flat tour for him to take it, and they'd have to really let him go on the flats. Still nice to see some Americans getting noticed though, ever since the Landis fiasco anyways.

The problem with that is that Zabriskie is not built to be a tremendous climber. That is simply not his strength. He should focus on winning time trials in the TDF, other main Tours and of course things like the olympics, world championships, &c.

I agree -> if Basso would have started, his team would have dominated the Tour and so would he.

IF Riis can ever get Zabriskie to climb well, he could contend for the TDF. He seems to crash a lot though. But man can he hammer the TTs when he stays upright. If Basso hadn't been tossed from the TDF this year they would have flat out dominated it.
