My take on the faith and politics issue is this: there&#039;s nothing wrong with religious people having a voice in politics, but when their views constitute a special interest or viewpoint that isn&#039;t shared by the majority, then the elected officials shouldn&#039;t legislate on that basis.  What would be healthy though, would be to find common ground between values of people with religious views and the values of secularists.  I do think that we need to come to some consensus about the basic moral issues, but not the detailed interpretation that comes from religion.
