Lieberman In Trouble? Hmmm….

Looks like the Republican dark horse, Alan Schlesinger, came out strong in the recent debate. Or at least that’s what the left would have you believe.

Hot Air has an interesting roundup of the blogosphere’s attempt to paint Schlesinger as the winner.

And then, more from the Hartford Courant

The televised hourlong encounter also included Republican Alan Schlesinger, who saved his sharpest attacks for Lieberman. The two are vying for Republican votes.

Schlesinger, recalling Lieberman’s public scolding of former President Clinton during the Monica Lewinsky sex scandal, sniped at the senator for being AWOL in Washington as North Korea pursued its nuclear ambitions.

“The question should be why has Joe Lieberman over the last 18 years not been there on this issue,” Schlesinger said. “Joe, you had more moral outrage about Mr. Clinton’s indiscretions than about North Korea’s nuclear proliferation.”

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t the Republican-led Congress take their eye off nuclear North Korea in favor of trying to impeach Clinton?

In any event, if Schlesinger can siphon even 10%, Joe may once again be Loserman and the blogsophere will claim credit for Lamont’s win…by supporting Schlesinger.

What times we live in…

I did notice that he reinforced his plan to caucus with the Democrats. That’s really all I care about at this point. I don’t much care for any of those clowns in Connecticut right now.

hotair has michelle malkin’s stank all over it. i refuse to touch it. i wish you did too.

    got anything else?

It is rather amusing to see the likes of Jane Hamsher attempt to convince us Repubs that Schlesinger is the guy we need to vote for. Throughout the dextrosphere, bloggers are cackling about this latest lame liberal talking point that Kos and Company out there in the sinestrosphere hope we conservatives will buy in to.

The libs really go out of their way to coordinate the message, don’t they?

by being sure to call out the liberals here, is this supposed to insinuate some difference between the parties? because, uh. no.

Considering among other things Joe’s earlier post , that’s gotta be the funniest thing I’ve read all day. And they say conservatives don’t have a sense of humour… ;)

It’s hard out here for a third party candidate.

Uh. Yes. Of course, actual political parties coordinate their messages, but you won’t see the dextrosphere secretly communicating with one another about the need to get their propaganda and talking points straight. We’ve already seen one well known example of that out of the sinestrosphere.

Tommy, are you saying the right doesn’t fall lock step into talking points? Please see the post Don in Canada linked to. The President met w/ the damn talking heads themselves. Oh wait, that wasn’t secret, so that makes it okay. That you linked to LGF of all people sorta makes my point. Not exactly the best example of a blog that doesn’t go lock step into the right wing talking points.
FYI, I think Glenn Greenwald disputed that claim of the lefty blogs that are influential, influencing him. Could be wrong though.

What is w/ all the “spheres” btw?

  9. Tommy says:

I consider nothing wrong with politicians meeting radio hosts or bloggers or anyone. Kos and Company have routinely met politicians and many of those same politicians have diaries on DailyKos. Fine by me. I do consider it questionable for certain bloggers to basically get together secretly and agree on what will be discussed on their blogs and what exactly will be said regarding those issues (and which subjects will be avoided as topics) while pretending there is no coordination going on. Doubly so when you constantly accuse the other side of engaging in such tactics.

    “Dextro-” Latin prefix meaning “right.”
    “Sinestro-” Latin prefix meaning “left.”

Ace of Spades HQ commonly uses them to denote the right and left sides of the political blogosphere.

  11. Tommy says:

I guess we could use the Greek prefix “meso” to denote the moderate blogosphere.

The Moderate Voice is part of the “mesosphere.”
