Pope Benedict met with Muslim leaders earlier today. He, once again, pleaded for an open, respectful, tolerant and reasonable dialogue between the two religions…
I’m disappointed that the Pope has chosen to respond to muslim’s violent reaction to his speech by pandering. Meanwhile muslims not only don’t apologize for the murders and other violent acts done in their name, they make excuses for it and blame others.
I don’t see it as pandering. He has repeatedly stressed the need for dialogue based on a nonviolent interpretation of all religion, and he’s repeatedly stressed the need for reciprocity. He really hasn’t budged at all on his stance on these issues.
