Frustration And Commitment

Frustrated are we?

An interesting post at Firedoglake. Pachacutec is frustrated with the DC Democrats, but committed to helping the Democrats win the elections nonetheless.

Beyourguest, what is not in question is if Kerry tossed away his medals. He did not. As recently as a few years ago they were in his office. He lied and claimed to have tossed them away. Later he took that back and claimed he tossed his ribbons. But when an interviewer told him that he was there at the event and witnessed Kerry toss away medals Kerry came up with the story that he tossed away medals given to him by two other vets.

It always amazes me that those defending Kerry and calling the Swift boat Veterans liars don’t challenge Kerry on this issue. There is no debate as to what Kerry said about the medals. His words are on record. End of story.

Kerry has always been a fraud. Those of us in Massachusetts have known this for years. but the gullible public chooses what they wish to believe. The issue of Kerry’s service is just one example. How may have you folks know that John Kerry has Jewish heritage? He claims not to have known this while trying to pass himself off as part Irish. But back to C. Stanley’s comment.

    C Stanley said :
Uh, I’m sorry but chucking away one’s medals counts as disavowing to me.

What would you say about a person who pretends to toss his medals away and tosses those of another person? That is if you believe that part of the story.

I see no proof to his asinine statement above, and I must have been just hallucinating when I saw the movie Going up river, the long war of John Kerry, and Kerry was throwing his medals over the wall on film.

No . You were drinking the koolade. KERRY TOSSED HIS MEDALS . He has them to this day .He claims he tossed the medals of another veteran . I guess they fooled you with that movie .

You want PROOF . Here you go .

Kerry said he stuffed them into his jacket. He said that when he prepared to throw his ribbons over the fence, he reached into his jacket and pulled out the medals from those two veterans. He said his own medals remained in safekeeping” (Boston Globe, June 17, 2003).

“[Massachusetts] Republican State Committee Chairman Andres S. Natsios … accused Kerry of ‘duplicity’ in tossing away another veteran’s medals, rather than his own” (Washington Post, Oct. 24, 1984).

    want more proof :

In 1984, the Post reported that Kerry said “he had disagreed with the decision to throw away medals but agreed to toss those of another veteran at the man’s request.” In 1985, Kerry told the Post, “It’s such a personal thing. They’re my medals. I’ll do what I want with them. … People say, ‘You didn’t throw your medals away.’ Who said I had to? And why should I? It’s my business. I did not want to throw my medals away.”

Here is a transcript of the gibson interview
CHARLIE GIBSON, HOST, ABC’s “GOOD MORNING AMERICA”: Well, Senator, I was there 33 years ago. I saw you throw medals over the fence, and we didn’t find out until later…

SEN. JOHN KERRY (D-MA), PRESIDENTIAL CANDI

GIBSON: … that it was somebody else’s medals.

KERRY: Charlie — Charlie, you’re wrong. That is not what happened. I threw my ribbons across. And all you have to do…

    GIBSON: And someone else’s medals.

I can provide dozens of links if you like . Kerry never tossed away his medals amd keeps them to this day . You were wrong and fooled by the footage you saw.

Belay the request for banning. I am oppossed to it in principal for all but the most extreme cases. I propose that I dont engage him in any conversation, and that he in return does not engage me. I do not like having the threads spoiled by this kindergarten type cr@p, but since he insists on following me around like demented puppy, my only recourse would be to leave.

I stayed away for awhile, and the previous policy I had of ignoring him when I did come was a good one. But like a fool, I treied to reach across the aisle in an act of good faith and seemed to have drawn back. The fact that this seems to reflect the greater atmosphere is ironic, but some people see kindness as a weakness, and dont seem to have any propensity to evolve.

So if you or Michael would ask him to not adress me anymore, I will do likewise and your readers will be the better off for it.

Loudmouth that I am, you have seen me do mea culpas, give credit where credit is due, and skewer myself in humerous posts. This individual has done none of these things, and my guess is he isn’t capable. What I am asking here is quite reasonable. Anyway, I dont intend to respond anymore and will leave it to you gentlemen to do the right thing.

Should be “I tried to reach across the aisle in an act of good faith, and seemed to have drawn back a nub.

    More proof :

    http://www.boston.com/globe/nation/ packages/kerry/061703.shtml

Video footage of the scene shows hundreds of veterans angrily gathering in front of the Capitol, near a fenced-in bin with the large sign saying “Trash.”

One by one, the veterans, most of whom had long hair and wore combat jackets, threw their medals into the makeshift trash bin.

Some press reports say that Kerry “threw his medals.” But Kerry has long maintained he threw his own ribbons but someone else’s medals.

In an interview, he said that he had previously met two veterans, one from the Vietnam War and another from World War II, who had asked Kerry to return their medals to the military. Kerry said he stuffed them into his jacket.

He said that when he prepared to throw his ribbons over the fence, he reached into his jacket and pulled out the medals from those two veterans. He said his own medals remained in safekeeping.

Would you like more proof that you are wrong Snarky ?

You see no proof Snarky ?

Slate.com link on this controversy is, once again, HERE.

Plenty of room for honest error on the part of everyone. So no sense in insulting anyone.

  8. MichaelF says:

Your problem Snarky is that you are losing the debate badly and can’t handle it . You like to dish it out but can’t take it when you are confronted with facts

  9. Rudi says:

Kerry may have thrown faux medals but he was shot at and earned those medals. GWB partied like a fratboy and lost his flying priveleges. After that he goes to help in an Alabama election while draftees, volunteers and court ordered service troops died in Vietnam. Tell me MickeyF, who is a hero and who played soldier on aircraftcarrier? Is MichaelF really Darrell from BalloonJuice?

  10. MichaelF says:

May have? The issue is not open for debate. Kerry has his medals and has shown them on more than one occasion. All I ask is to keep the debate here honest. Notice how so many people actually are under the impression that Kerry tossed away his own medals despite what Kerry has said on the issue himself? Now who are the Koolaid drinkers?
