So, it’s OK with every one of those countries to go back to the status quo with Hizbollah having thousands of missiles to fire at Israeli citizens whenever they want and for a terrorist organization to kidnap Israeli soldiers and/or civilians whenever they want to trade for prisoners. Why should we or the Israelis cave into stupidity?
So, on the left we have France, Germany, Iran, and Russia, all of which clearly violated UN protocols by providing weapons to terrorists or blocked governments. We have countless countries where the majority of people think 9/11 was a vast, rightwing conspiracy.
On the right we have people that aren’t as willing to bukakke themselves with stupidity.
Is this the Pat Robertson and LGF comment page? CBNews I gotta LOL. Lets discuss the real age of the Earth and “Flat Earth” and a Heliocentric universe.
LOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!
Israel is not a Democracy for the Arabs, it uses a Aparthied model to fool the USA.
All I have to say is God Bless America and Britain. It is not surprising that the rest of the world doesn’t give a shit about Israel. This has always been the case. It isn’t THEIR countries being hit by missiles, or THEIR soldiers being kidnapped, if it were, most of those countries would have acted far more aggressively than Israel, as when Russia leveled Grazny and slaughtered thousands, to which the world community was silent. Israel needs to ignore world opinion and get on with the business of defeating its enemies. If Israel waited for international approval to defend itself, it would have been long annihilated. Just because the majority opinion takes a certain position, doesn’t mean it is the right one. Countries act in their own self interests, and most of the world depends on arab oil, is afraid of muslim terrorism and yes, is anti-Semitic. Not surprisingly the ultra leftist Independent thinks somehow this silly picture is an embarrassment to America, Israel and the UK, as though in their twisted morally bankrupt minds, the fact that we are so outnumbered means we must be wrong, which isn’t true as I’ve explained above. I’m proud that our flag stands on the right side of that picture.
Maybe pat Robertson can supply the IDF with his protien shake. Imagine an army that can leg press 2000#. There would be no need for armour with this army of SuperDupermen. God praise the 700 Club, source for all “truthiness”.
So we’re on the right side of the issue, while the rest of the world, with the exception of Britain, is wrong. Hmmm sounds familiar—when has this situation come up before—oh I know —-Iraq! What an amazing moral compass America has- what humanitarians we are—-that’s why we’ve been able to ignore genocide in Rwanda and Darfur. Nice to know we’re not just a nation that’s concerned onlyn with its self-interest!
Pyst, I notice you don’t address my problem with their idea of immediate cease fire. One thing that this current conflict has shown is that Iran has provided Hizbollah with thousands of missiles to use on Israel. From your comments I assume that you consider Israel, Hizbollah and Hamas to be morally equivalent?
First of all Jim, I wasn’t directing that comment at you per se. Secondly since you asked, yes I think a cease fire would be a good place to start. Why you ask? Well if Hezbollah breaks a cease fire then they loose any sliver of public sentement they may have gained in this mess (and they have in some corners). That would give Israel a publicity upper hand in this that they have lost by hitting civilians (if that is possible), and give them a go ahead to resume without holding back, or complaints from almost all corners.
“One thing that this current conflict has shown is that Iran has provided Hizbollah with thousands of missiles to use on Israel.”
Yeah, and Israels bombs and missles have made in the USA printed on them. We might as well get over this fact and understand countries arm other countries, and groups. If this was the 60′s it would be the US arming Israel and the USSR arming Hezbollah, so not alot has really changed other than the players involved.
“From your comments I assume that you consider Israel, Hizbollah and Hamas to be morally equivalent?”
Anyone that kills non-combatants/civilians without much concern don’t have any morals in my opinion. Oh that was pure Laura freakout bait right there *smacks forehead*, but it is what I think and honesty is the best policy yada yada. Israel has the ability to avoid this but is apparently lacking the will to do so. I say this because they have the best of high tech weaponry (supplied by you know who) and supposedly the best intel gathering unit on the planet (Mossad). I have to think they left their care for anyone but themselves out of the mix this time, if not the last dozen or so times they have put the IDF into action. So to put a percentage on this I’d say Israel is about 60% as bad as Hezbollah which is 75% as bad as Hamas. None of them do very much for me, and I’d prefer we keep a good distance from all of them frankly, because I don’t care for my tax dollar going to any of them sparking WW3.
But I’m just one person without the millions of dollars to be important enough for my government to listen to. Atleast that’s how it works now.
Jim S:
Pyst, I notice you don’t address my problem with their idea of immediate cease fire. One thing that this current conflict has shown is that Iran has provided Hizbollah with thousands of missiles to use on Israel.
And awwwwwwwwwww gee whiz and Israel doesn’t have a single bullet, rocket, or bomb to fire back with….
….that is Israel doesn’t have one single bullet, rocket, or bomb to fire back with not marked Made in U S A or it or made under licensed patent by the Jews! Face it Jim S….Israel DOES NOT HAVE THE RAW MATERIALS NOR MANUFACTURING CAPABILITY TO MAKE THEIR OWN ARMS…THE U S FURNISHES ISRAEL EVERYTHING!
Jim S are you that ignorant, just plain stupid, or do you purposefully omit facts for the bush administration.
( cue the laugh track ) Have you been paying attention ? On which occasion did Hezballah’s show you that they are concerned about such things. If given the opportunity to cause major chaos and destruction towards Israel at the risk of losing brownie points by breaking a cease fire ,which do you think Hezzbalah would choose?
His kind of comment by pyst is exactly why people like him should not be in charge of any military operation.
MikeF, I wouldn’t put you in charge of picking up litter in the park. You’d probably say the plastic drink bottles were terrorists and bring grenades to “combat” them. So chuckle all you want, but I don’t see you saying anything but war, war, war and that isn’t an answer to anything but a precursor to the next war.
You want those that aren’t on Israel’s side in this to be on their side at all eh? Well if they went with a cease fire and Hezbollah broke the cease fire I would say Israel has ever right to go get them. But I also said I’m not worth millions so my opinion doesn’t matter to the powers that be.
That was from my singular point of view MikeF, I can see you somehow put me up as a possible military commander for some reason. But anyone with an ounce of sense knows a military commander is not in charge, a president/prime minister is. As a military commander I would have moved into Lebanon alot sooner than Israel did, used my airforce not to bomb every town to rubble, but instead had them flying zone control missions waiting for launchers to fire and make easy targets of themselves. And cut all roads/ bridges across the Litani river isolating the majority of Hezbollahs rocket launchers. I’d then do deep penitration with commandos behind them as my main infantry moved forward squeezing them like a zit, and creating many oprotunities for ambush. My first concern is stopping the immediate threat to my citizens (which Israel has NOT done). As this first goal is achieved I start blocking all roads out of the Bekka valley via IAF (their first mission is launchers,roads/bridges and support of the IDF incursion), and make it clear I intend to destroy any movement into the country from the East and North. After my commandos have done their jobs in the South I start using them for search and destroy mission in Bekka, to locate supply depots, and destruction of Hezbollah reinforcements. My last concern is Beirut and the North which can be done using Mossad agents at first to locate the leaders of Hezbollah. Instead we see a sloppy haphazard mess by Israel, with wanton destruction. Very sloppy for a military that used to be so professional, almost like someone drew this up on a napkin in a bar.
So if you want me to be more than a citizen from another country in your fantasyland remarks, I can do decent, and probably better than you in military strategy. Rememebr all that was thought up in less than 5 mins, and alot better than what you could probably come up with.
Btw, MicahelvdG if you want to say something go ahead instead of being the “yeah” guy behind soemone else. It looks really wussyish.
So if you want me to be more than a citizen from another country in your fantasyland remarks, I can do decent, and probably better than you in military strategy. Rememebr all that was thought up in less than 5 mins, and alot better than what you could probably come up with.
No. It wasn’t lost on me that you spent 5 minutes on that military strategy. In fact, I point all on many occasions that you arm chair Generals have no real valuable insight to offer. You are like all those arm chair coaches who think you know more than Bill Belicheck . The difference between you and I is that I understand the distinction between having a valid opinion on a matter and having feelings and emotions.
I’m waiting private. tell me how my ideas are wrong, or are you just gonna complain like a know-nothing blowhard? You surely can’t teach because you don’t know anything about what you are talking smack about, so you use jingoism, and complain to protect your lack of counter argument. Hmmm, can’t teach, but complains. What was that lame comment someone just made?
Btw, Belicheck throws the ball too much and gets away from the ball control of a running game making his D spend too much time on the feild, but what do you expect from a defensive coordinator turned head coach. Of course that didn’t happen untill Wise (the actual offensive genius in NE) left for ND. So you don’t understand football very well either if you think the head coach runs the offense or defense, they just approve or disapprove of a coordinators ideas, unless they decide to run ONE SIDE of the ball, and Belicheck is a former defensive coordinator.

Are you dense ? Is my post over your head ? If one of the bloggers wants to start a thread about silly theories from arm chair generals then I will be happy to add my insights . MY POINT FOR THE THIRD TIME IS SIMPLE . I don’t have enough information to formulate a valid opinion on the matter. I have feelings and emotions but not a well informed opinion .Niether do YOU !!!! Hence the reason I compared you to the silly arm chair coaches who think they know more than the guys walking the side lines. And you come right back proving my point yet AGAIN .

Where did I say the head coach runs the offense or the defense ? Such a statment is simply not there .

So everything you said after that is irrelevant. However, I happen to agree with most of it. I’m a very big fan of Romeo Cronell and Charley Weiss and understand what they did for the New England Patriots. I also prefer to see more balance from the offense. But I also understand that Bill doesn’t have John Hanna or Larry Little to put on the field.
I also attend only one or two training sessions each year as opposed to Bill’s covering almost all of them. But even those few are enough to see the limitations of that offensive line. As a small aside, I played several sports at a fairly high level. Until a few years ago I continued to workout and play pick up games with several pro football players. I even competed in an overall fitness contest which included hundreds of NFL players. Only one guy beat me. I have been a season ticket holder since 1977 and my seats are a few rows up from the Patriots bench . Life is good .
It is amazing how few nations are correct. In the ’30s Churchill was lampooned.
And who would Churchill oppose? The Iranian President? Or the Israeli PM? My bet is Israel.
You see all that white space, that’s heaven, that’s God. And look at all that God on our side.
