The Individual Mandate: Republicans Were For It Before They Were Against It »
Senate Republicans have sent David Vitter out to do to health care what he was caught doing with minions of the DC Madam almost three years ago.
By this logic, John Ensign should be up next instructing employers on better ways to cover their workers in good faith.
Even strait-laced Tom Coburn is getting into the spirit of the thing with an amendment barring coverage of Viagra for sex offenders.
If the GOP’s last stand is taking on the look of a Feydeau bedroom farce, it’s only fitting for an enterprise that has as much to do with reality as the racing around and slamming of doors in “Hotel Paradiso.”
I'm starting to wonder if the republican embarrassment threshold has any limits.
They are representing the will of the people apparently
Poll: Most Want GOP to Keep Fighting on Health Bill

The majority of Americans have opposed this legislation consistently, a fact you'll find “neglected” on this “moderate” site.
Left unsaid is if they oppose the legislation as much or less than the way the Dems have worked on it and on other legislation this past year.
The inability of the anti- ANY health reform people (like Leonidas, DrJ, DLS etc) to acknowledge and accept the fact that YES a “majority” of Americans DID oppose this legislation BUT it was a majority ONLY because 12 to 20 percent of those who opposed it were people like me who didn't think it went far enough. I believe that that 12 to 20 percent now begrudgingly accept it as a good start. Ergo, a SUPER majority are in favor… whether the fear mongers and naysayers like it or not.
It's a shame but nothing new or unexpected from a bunch of lobby made liars.
“anti- ANY health reform people (like Leonidas, DrJ, DLS etc)”
Wrong again. From the start I listed numerous examples of reform that could and should have been sought.
So have the others you listed.
My comment was about your inability to acknowledge and accept the fact that the majority against was made up of 12 to 20 percent who didn't think the bill went far enough but are now begrudgingly accepting it making the pro side a SUPER MAJORITY.
Your quoting my words and then trying to change the subject is exactly what I was talking about… Thanks.
So you replied illogically, then.
Here is the latest. No SUPER MAJORITY (in! caps!) yet, I'm afraid.

As to the illogical motive,
“the majority against was made up of 12 to 20 percent who didn't think the bill went far enough but are now begrudgingly accepting
I've identified this fraction of the population numerous times, not only prior to passage of this legislation, but after it, stating consistently, for example, that these people can't be ignored by the Dems between now and November when trying to pass more legislation, or they'll be angry (not just apathetic).
If you missed it before, it's no longer so. Don't say later you never saw it here.
