I don't agree Axel. Hatred of all sorts is wrong and has no place in political discourse. I think you can agree that both parties play the hatred card to control their massess. Likewise INDIVIDUAL violence is never a good thing (vigilantism, murder, etc).

Are you, perhaps, confusing me with Patrick, as I made a very specific statement regarding Tiller as a murderer, which, in my eyes, he was?

First off, as I think I made clear, while I personally think abortion is wrong I do not support making it illegal. I do think that in later stages when the fetus is more fully formed that restrictions (though not an absolute ban as there are medical reasons for some late term procedures) are appropriate.

Based on what you are saying I suspect you adopt a somewhat similar view though I would welcome your more detailed comments.

Second, as to same sex marriage rights, unless you've ignored everything I've ever written on the subject you would know I am a very strong advocate for the right of same sex couples to marry and was strongly opposed to Proposition 8.

So I'm not opposed to choice in the early stages and I support same sex rights. In that I'm not sure where I am imposing rights here.

As to my comments to Father Time.

He has made it clear he totally opposes all rights for same sex couples (or pretty close to that, if he supports some rights I will be glad to correct the statement). He adopts this view because he does not like gays (or so he has said).

At the same time he seems to suggest that opposing abortion at any point in the pregnancy is imposign moral views.

My question was how can he oppose imposing moral views on abortion but support doing so on same sex rights.

Again, if I have in any way misrepresented his views I welcome his feedback and will gladly correct my statement.

I do not support this man nor do I support outright abortion bans.

On the other hand I do not support unlimited abortion to term. I think most people would generally agree with me but sadly we have hard liners on both sides.

You don't hear the same EWTN on local radio as you do on TV. Catholic radio is full of barely concealed visceral hatred toward pro-choice people. They openly call abortion murder and well one cannot rationalize fighting “sanctioned murder” with anything else but deadly force….right? Sacrifice yourself, for the cause in “gods’ service, is only a single layer beneath their “Pro-Life” radio rhetoric. Tones of voice are violent
and menacing, especially around election time. However to protect from prosecution and civil legal reprisal, a legally required disclaimer is always stated.

I firmly believe that this murder in Kansas City never would have happened had there been no catholic radio broadcasts condemning abortion doctors nearly on a daily basis. It leaves no doubt in my mind the violent threat the Catholic Church instigates now, as it has done throughout history, against those whom are not of their faith and political belief.

My sense as a shrink is that Mr. Roeder is not well, and is bolsetered behind the scenes by those who want him 'to hold his head up high' for what he did. But in God's sight, as I understand it with my small finite mind, God is said to see such matters differently as per Christian proscriptions. On the other hand, I dont believe Roeder is capable of reasoning beyond obcessive thought, not from what I've seen him say.

People with his set of disorders are most dangerously affected by rhetoric and harping between good and evil. Cho (Virginia Tech), and Harris and Kybold (Columbine) and many other homicidally ill persons think they are on the side of Good against Evil, and thus act to slaughter others.

Though there are those on earth who say there is a time and place for such aggression, and many of us struggle to weigh this with ethics regarding war of any kind, there is also a mental disorder that claims that individuals and groups are evil and only oneself is good.

Sadly, it's called paranoid schizophrenia. Persons with that diagnosis (and not saying this is what Mr. Roeder has, but many of its symptoms appear to be in and with him) are most often homicidal and often suicidal as well. Cho and Eric Harris suffered, in my opinion, from this particular disorder also.

One of the things CERTAIN about persons whose minds split into two extreme parts where all is defined as evil/satanic and good/godly, is that they are the MOST vulnerable to violence from hearing news, rhetoric, propaganda, rabble rousing. They are the ones who decide they are being told to 'do something to end it all.'

It is not a disease, per se. It's a brain chemical disorder.

Um, hating on extreme partisans and fear-mongers like Steyn is a natural, beautiful thing. Hating on war criminals is also pretty dang uncontroversial. Doesn't mean I'm going to shoot them, it just means that my antagonism can get pretty heated. But then, being hated or seeing evil done does that to people. Like I said, just because I hate people who reject societal foundations doesn't mean I'm going to do it myself to get to them (although let us not forget that evil always wins, seeing as good only exists in the dialectic between good and evil, while evil just rejects the boundary between the two). And considering how Yoo and Cheney has gone unmolested, pretty much all left-wingers seem to limit themselves like me.

Shouldn't we hate murderers?
