America Should ‘Hire Private Jets for Muslims’: Elaph, United Kingdom

Is it time for the United States to segregate Muslim passengers and force them to fly on Muslim-only flights? That is just one of the politically-incorrect suggestions of Khadir Taahar, an Arab-Muslim and a regular columnist for Iraq’s Kitabat newspaper, who authored this article for Britain’s Arabic Elaph news portal.
For Elaph, Taahar writes in part:
Yesterday, Allah made sure that the crime against passengers of an American aircraft arriving from Holland, in which a terrorist wanted to kill people just because he differs with them ideologically and religiously – didn’t happen. This crime and others will give America good reason to find several new ways of protecting itself and its people from the barbarity of terrorism. Security and the preservation of life will trump human rights and civil liberties.
If I were in the place of an American decision maker, I would address the threat of airborne terrorism and passenger safety by arranging special flights for Muslims only and setting up a weekly schedule of aircraft that belong to Muslim countries, which would be permitted to land in special areas of American airports. … This is part of a legitimate right to self-defense against terrorist attacks when we don’t know when or where they will originate; and when attacks could come from Muslims born in Europe and America and who have lived the high life on their bounty, only to later stab them in the back and betray them!

No. You can't always defeat terrorism but you can always keep them from winning. Just keep living as if they don't exist. Don't give in. Don't give up.
Whether you do it via politically correct camouflage or not, profiling is indeed the most effective means. The author's private jet camouflage is facetious, but the underlying point is not.
I was part of a TSA pilot program to receive a special ID enabling background-checked individuals to pass through abbreviated security so that, theoretically, existing resources could spend more time on others non-cleared.
They canned the program saying, in effect, it was not politically correct because it was profiling by “exclusion”.
I'd like a private airplane all to myself. That way I know no passenger will bomb it.

We'll just send the bill to Saudi Arabia, where these idiots get their fundamentalist indoctrination.
During one of the posh State Department Gala events last summer, the Saudi Ambassador mentioned his addiction to the TV series Star Trek in conversation with the Secretary of the Air Force. He was intrigued by the idea of many different cultures, races, even different species getting along so well with each other, but asked why there were no Arabs. The Secretary of the Air Force answered that that was an easy question to answer because Star Trek takes place in the future.

Is every Muslim a terrorist? No.
But nearly every terrorist is a Muslim.
I've heard the arguments against this many times. And I'm sure I'll hear them again here.
However, “profiling” is needed in many cases. For example, try to apply for a visa if you are from Haiti. It ain't happening. Why? Because of AIDS. Does that mean we “hate” Haitians? No. It merely means we are protecting our citizens.

Oh puhleeze, JD. AIDS is not spread through casual contact and it takes two to tango. There are about a million people in the US who are HIV positive. These days being HIV positive does not mean you will develop AIDS. Keeping Haitians out of the US does not “protect” our citizens when people of all ethnicities and nationalities are HIV positive. This “protecting our citizens” is just fear mongering to keep poor black people out of the USA without saying that we don't want poor black people immigrating to the US from Haiti. Politics.
Having said that I want to be clear that I am NOT advocating for the US to admit everyone and his brother to the US. But let's be honest about the reasons we are keeping certain groups of people out.
Yes, regrettably profiling works for both sides. And flying is not on my list of fun things to do anymore.
Bothers me not spirasol.
Take a heck-of-a-lot more than this silly incident to keep me from air travel.
