Till Death Due Us Part

Best divorce filing. Ever. [PDF]. I especially like the pictures. And the random font size changes and underlining.

H/T: Wings and Vodka.

  1. Ryan S says:

I especially like the part “a RESident of HARRiS CounTY For The preceeding FIFTEEN MONTHS ( against his will, having left the hill country North of Austin where lawyers are in low demand and having moved to beutiful STINKADENA)” that and of course General Relief.

  2. I’d say the wonder of it is that it was actually accepted and filed in good order. You want to bet the clerk of the court found it, shall we say, a refreshing change from standard legal form? If I was the clerk, then after reading the same old briefs and filings day after day, I’d accept this one just to meet the filer and shake their hand.

Handwritten briefs are nothing new, of course; jailhouse lawyers have been doing them for years. Witness Clarence Gideon’s famous brief that eventually set the requirement for representation for indigent defendants. But this one has a charm all its own…especially the closer!
