On Obama’s Afghan Plan: Iraqi News Agency, Iraq

Army cadets during the invocation before President Obama addressed them on his decision to send an additional 30,000 troops to Afghanistan, at West Point, December 1.

So what do Iraqis have to say about President Obama’s newest surge — in Afghanistan? Writing for the Iraqi News Agency, Mahmoud Ibrahim Al Hoyan has penned a reaction reminiscent of the kind of content we were translating back in the dog days of Fallujah — full of blood, Satan and brimstone. The lingering anger and resentment at the United States is palpable, and there are shades of Iran’s state-run press as well.

For the Iraqi News Agency, Mahmoud Ibrahim Al Hoyan writes of the Americans, in part:

“You see them in full regalia — and no one can top them for protocol, their halls full of American flags and adorned with stars. They’re not ready to help the world or lend a helping hand, but to harvest more souls, destroy more countries and trample other peoples underfoot. … The world sees these idiotic strategies and the genius employed for the sake of destruction. Just look at Washington’s decision to send more troops to Afghanistan and order more nations to follow suit – and who dares say no to Uncle Sam?”

Of Obama, Mahmoud Ibrahim Al Hoyan writes in part:

Only weeks ago Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize and his grin was even wider. But behind that smile is concealed some very sharp teeth.

The question is, Mr. President Obama, are you as you said upon accepting the Peace Prize and Nobel scepter, a peace maker? How would you feel if you were one of the soldiers whose evident fear of death was etched on their faces as their president ordered them to fight, while members of your family prepared turkey dinner to celebrate the holidays with you?

Yes — it’s a rush to harvest more souls, thus committing more sins about which Christ, peace be upon Him, warned: Thou Shall Not Kill! Thou Shall Not Kill! Thou Shall Not Kill!

The Lord in which all heavenly religions believe and who sent all the prophets calls for peace and refuses and even prohibits murder – is that not so? None of the religions of history invite people to kill and destroy, but these are the teachings of the extremists in the White House. They’re the ones that distort the commandments of the Lord and make Satan their master, who is the source of their teachings.

The world has lived for over two decades with the great curse of America, a nation that after approving decisions that have gradually drowned other peoples and nations in blood, doesn’t want to wash its hands of evil.

Well let's be fair, plenty of distortion of teachings of faith has occured since the very moment those words were passed to prophets through the ages. The very first unchaste person those prophets repeated those sacred words to began to distort them. Get those people a job in the translation business and things can get very distorted. Add a millenia or two to the mix and we're lucky if any of it comes even a horseshoe width from the ringer.

The bottom line is that men are greedy. There really isn't any more to it than that. Look at islam where men want more than one wife? Why? Variety? What makes them so special that their wives may not have variety then also? lol.. And christians who kill in the name of money, calling it “God's mission”? There is no fire of hell that will burn anyone hotter I assure you.

Yes, the nutshell of Obama's bad decision isn't that he is evil himself, only cowardly. Through his all-too-human fear, and lets face it, that fear includes being disappeared, he resorted to sending 30,000 who wouldn't complain vs a dozen men who would stalk him day and night until they bagged him for daring to turn them over to prosecution they so richly deserve. I just saw a bumper sticker yesterday that made me giggle. It said, “Bush deserves a fair trial”. Actually what he and Cheney et al really deserve is waterboarding, sleep deprivation, and all the other little nicities they dished out at Gitmo, but hey, we all have to compromise right?

To do nothing at all to these men is a de facto declaration by our leadership that we have given our assent to said crimes. The world will not forget. The world will not look away. The world [not just islamic regions either, but also christian ones, hindu ones, and agnostic ones] demands that the United States bring these men to justice. It is a wound to our credibility that is in danger of becoming gangrenous.

Tough love dictates that the world should pitch in its efforts in a realistic way. Close down foreign bank accounts of the american superwealthy until our war criminals are brought to trial. That should separate the true Cheneyco. loyalists from the ones who pledge their loyalty based on how much money they milk from it.

We did stuff like that to Germany to disgorge it's war criminals. You push people too far and they will eventually smack you back right in the choppers..
