Well excuse my cynicism but why is anyone surprised that an ambitious politician with pretensions to national office would say of do ANYTHING to get votes. It’s barely 2006 and already Bush is the lamest of lame ducks and we have to put up with all this preening and puffing and chamaleon-like shape-shifting bullshit for another two and a half years! Let’s pass a law that says that electioneering cannot start until after Labor Day of an election year. Either that or let’s just select our “leaders” via a lottery system. I guarantee it won’t affect the results and it will save us from this incessant meaningless crap.

As a Democrat who use to admire McCain I am troubled by this developement. If he “kisses ass” at Liberty U, then he has sold his soul to the devil. If his speech is “down the middle” and (somewhat) challenges “Falwell” then all will be forgiven. I don’t understand the latest “Bush licking”.
