The most amazing thing about a solar eclypse to me is that our moon is the perfect size to generate one. If it were much bigger or smaller or if it were much closer* or farther away we wouldn’t have the spectacular effect of only a visible corona.
*Technically, if it were much closer tidal forces would rip it apart, but that’s beside the point.
