When I saw this post, I thought “gotta be Carter.” I can’t think of another former president who’s sought the limelight as much as Carter, for better or worse. But attacking Carter shouldn’t be considered a right-wing reflex – his consistent boosterism for anti-American regimes, and thumbs-up for their corrupt elections, should make anyone pause who cares about the advance of democracy and liberal institutions abroad. He united the country against him in 1980, and he’s still got it!
All I’ve ever seen him do is care about people, and try to get the US to stop cold wars with countries when it isn’t fixing anything. So he wasn’t presidential enough, I don’t care about that now, but I do care that he spends his time doing something other presidents haven’t the stones to do, like real help for people.
Wow, can you imagine that, a former president actually conversing with the peasants?
Ok, now for the usual right wingers to attack him for daring to do so.

Boosterism? Anti-american regimes? Which ones?
