Death threats for Obama
Four times as many as death threats for Bush? More? For his most passionate supporters, it is only natural to think of this young, charismatic and inspirational leader as another potential JFK, RFK or MLK Jr. (Although I doubt we’ll ever call him BHO.)
Yet it was Kevin Drum of all people who noted that according to Secret Service chief Mark Sullivan that the number of threats against the president is “at the same level” as it was during the previous two administrations. The day after Kevin’s post, the NY Times published a long story about threats against the president, which according to unnamed sources, includes a “big increase in threats against Mr. Obama took place in the first four months of his presidency,” but have leveled off since.
Some pundits are still playing catch-up, though. On Sunday morning, Katrina Vanden Heuvel, editor of The Nation, asserted that “I think we have to be worried about egregious security lapses. This president, I believe, has received a record number of death threats.”
Let’s hope the threats stay down or go even lower.

Are there really that many crazies out there?
I cannot understand why anyone would threaten someone whom can be voted out of office every four years and is life limited to eight!
If its not an anti-right talking point, don't expect many lefties to post updates, same applies to the right, its the nature of pundits whether its death threats, sick puppy Bill Sparkman's suicide or some issue the right trumpeted instead.
Just remember kids, Obama is the most conservative of the three-headed medusa that can assume the Oval Office. If he goes, Biden will take the helm..lol.. And if Biden goes, as poli-sci 101 resurfaces, isn't it Nanny Pelosi set to take his place? Oh I imagine a great deal of leniency under Pelosi for conservative positions…lol…
The would-be assasins would ensure a democratic victory in 2012 out of compassion and a knee-jerk punishment for what would surely be seen as a GOP strike [courtesy of flame-fanning on behalf of Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh, Palin and the Devil himself "Dick"]. And that would continue from the shock wave well into 2020 and maybe beyond. All liberal agendas would be realized in full force and effect. Nancy Pelosi by 2020 would look like John Boehner in comparison to what would be ruling us then.
Something for the fringe right to mull over while they're fanning the flames…
Nancy Pelosi would only step up to the plate if Mr. Obama and Mr. Biden were to perish at the same time or if Mr. Biden failed to replace himself as the VP.
Since Cheney was the VP and I believe that he was reviled much more than Mr. Bush, wouldn't one conclude that the death threats came from right-wingers? I mean, what left winger would have wanted to take out Bush for Cheney?

Actually, the puppy love finally has died down, after about a year since his taking office. (It's nothing like the sickening media display a number of months earlier.) Even his idealistic, starry-eyed “progressive” fans are becoming disenchanted that he's not giving them everything they want, instantly. Health care “reform” is not only a big reality lesson for the Dems in Congress, but for the President, too.
