I don’t usually look over at Slate.
I guess this comment would better be placed here.
Even though it looks doubtful, I really hope Sharon makes it and is able to return to his position as PM.
If he does not, the people of Israel are more than likely going to elect a radical right wing hardliner which will only cause more problems in the region.
Perhaps you mean Binyamin Netanyahu. I heard him speak at the GA in 1997 – although I much prefered his opponent he was quite impressive.
