Well, if for anything else, its possible that he passed Obama some of his favorite foreign policies and vocabulary. Perhaps there could also be a little deja vu, as we all are going to be asked to accept more war.

I'll give Dubya credit for doing what he is supposed to be doing, now that he's out of the picture. But I don't think he will ever get any credit for letting subsequent administrations know just how far they can go before the country thinks we're doing some pretty bad stuff.

To be honest I think Bush has been somewhat unfairly maligned but I say somewhat because those that I think do deserve the credit he either handed the keys of the kingdom too or was duped by, either way though I may pity him I am very happy he is no longer in the White House.

Fallows is right, praise to GWB for having the sense to keep a low profile and not be a PIA as an ex-prez… or maybe his conscience (or consciousness finally kicked in and his disturbing legacy began to dawn on him. And then we have Dick Cheney, whose actions are predictably without conscience… but then we've grown to expect that from him.

Why not just say, "instead of Dick Cheney"? ..lol..

Truth be told the only thing to admire about Dubya is that he's basically kept his mouth shut since he left. But then again he's only doing what he's alway done: obey George Sr. and Cheney's orders. If they hadn't feared being prosecuted, well Cheney anyway, George Sr. is the teflon shark, Dubya would be pontificating at every opportunity.

So the article should say that we should praise Dubya for being what he's always been: Cheney's little obedient puppet, whatever the agenda. In this case, shutting up.
