I agree with you wholeheartedly that we should be proud of all our Medal of Honor recipients.

Highlighting one group of recipients does not dimish the honor and appreciation all other recipients have earned, regardless of whether they have gone “to Harvard, Berkley, Sanford or the school of hard knocks.”

Cal had compulsory ROTC until the 1960's so I wouldn't be surprised if there are others. Certainly California certainly has contributed more to the nation's defense than the more politically conservative Sanford across the bay. A large number of the scientists who developed the atomic bomb came from Cal including Opheimhier.
