The drive I just completed ended a day early (it's now Thanksgiving at the end of the road trip), but --

Kathy, you're not the only one who can be moved by a song, for any number of reasons. [smile]

I'm in the middle of relocating, after 10+ years in the East, back to the West. During my trip back, I've been listening to music (in addition to news and commentary on the radio). My two favorite songs I've enjoyed today, while going from Missouri to New Mexico on a splendid day, reminded me of a past 10+ years I've been grateful for, for all the experiences, as well as, in the case of one of the two songs, a far distant past yet, when I was not only still in the West but still in California, and enjoying life with and helping to raise my goddaughters. (This song cured the scratchy dry-eye problem I had been having.)

A) a bluesy beginning to a song taking the listener to la Habana

[title track, first track]

http://www.lala.com/#album/937030198055167548

[live and livelier]

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWSJ5Aw_5iA

B) thinking of the girls as well as how far northeast I've driven...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKsrYkKGsoY
