Wrong again, I'm an independent, though progressive and IF, there was
anyone on the Elephant side to consider, I would. I think O inherited a
plate and a half, and most likely anyone would have overwhelmed,
including, or especially McCain/Palin. Jury should remain out on O for
at least a few years, though I can assure among my people Obama has not
exactly delivered the pizza. Ah, we agree, all politicians are
opportunists, it is mostly a matter of containing their narcissism, and
making sure you get a piece of the pie for your vote(s). In this
corporate/global/lobbiest world we would do better to stop paying taxes
and instead hire a lobbying firm to represent us. I jest, but only partly.

Of course you know I meant Hilary. She wasn't a NYer. Good, two of us did not vote for Hilary. And I was glad O beat her. You sure are obsessed with a person's party. Yes, I voted for McCain (but had to grit my teeth, hate Palin). I just don't didn't think O was up to the task. But it was Morton's Choice.
P.S., I think most politicians are opportunists, even Dems.

Don't get your comment. Who is an opportunist? You? Gulliani?
Hillary? Me? Good guess, no I didn't vote for Hillary. Did you vote
for McCain-Palin, perhaps you wasted your vote. And, perhaps you are
from the Elephant clan, the Neo-elephant clan. If Guliani isn't an
opportunist they will have to redefine the word. If it were only the
places where he actually held office, those voters would not vote for
him again, but when you figure in the upstate crowd, who knows? --- a
little heroic mayor, a little law & order guy, a little gun in every
lunch box guy, a little anti abortion, stir up the fear and terrorism,
-- who knows he could win. However, happy to have my NY vote cancel yours.

As a New Yorker, you can bet my vote will be going the other way. The guy is an opportunist at best and he ran NYC mafia style with an eye toward the elites, beating up people and circumventing laws.

Well, from an electability standpoint he has a higher chance of beating Gillibrand than Cuomo, although I always thought he wanted to govern not legislate.
