The verdict is in. The Senate health care bill was written by Nazis. Kids will be forced to have lots of sex and abortions. Christmas will be illegal. School will have daily prayers– to Satan. Soft drinks will be banned.

Oh, and it's directly responsible for global warming. Run for your life. It will eat your children.

I wouldn't be surprised if they (either purposefully or still out of a sense of desparation or disturbed agitation) put aside not only their lunatic “climate” legislative effort but everything else simply to get this health legislation passed by the end of the year. To what extent they'll cut corners and flail and make a few careless choices along the way, to get anything with “health care” stamped on the end result, is still an open question.

I wouldn't give so much time right now to the flaws in the bill and how they might be compounded during the Senate-House negotiations (Dems: “How bad a bill can both our houses agree to produce?”), but rather the simple observation that the bill has been released “already,” i.e., the Senate got moving more quickly than most of us would have expected. There might be a conference and a final bill by Christmas.
