Four decades after being tortured in a North Korean prison camp, John McCain is trapped in a slow drip of accusations from Sarah Palin as she embarks on weeks of media ubiquity to promote her aptly titled, “Going Rogue.”
A New York Times review notes that “the most sustained and vehement barbs in this book are directed not at Democrats or liberals or the press, but at the McCain campaign. The very campaign that plucked her out of Alaska, anointed her the Republican vice-presidential nominee and made her one of the most talked about women on the planet–someone who could command a reported $5 million for writing this book.”
Good soldier that he is, when asked if the book has become “a nuisance,” McCain responds no, “It’s the usual background noise.”
But his former staff members are not so stoic, his campaign manager calling the book “self-serving and revisionist…fiction” as Palin blames everyone but herself for the fiascoes that revealed her inexperience and ignorance, no matter how hard they tried to disguise it.
Now they and McCain are Palin’s media prisoners as she preens with Oprah, Barbara Walters and Limbaugh and in personal appearances in small cities all over the map, carefully avoiding the metropolitan areas she disdained during the campaign.
As a “publicity saint,” Palin can override all criticism, as she does with the AP’s fact-checking of “familiar claims from the 2008 presidential campaign that haven’t become any truer over time.”
Poor Sarah…lol..
She just doesn't realize that her selection to run as the GOP VP had nothing to do with her personally. In true misogynist fashion, the GOP selected “a known and ranking skirt” [emphasis on skirt] who would have appeal to rake in women. Or so they thought. And even truer to their misogynistic stance they devalued women to such a degree that they refused to believe that they are capable of discerning that manuever, as blatant and obvious as it was.
After the fact, well really, after the election results rolled in lol..they realized their miscalculation. Too late to do anything about it they lost. And oh how they wish Palin would go away now. Just like a bad one night stand that lost them everything when found out by the women of this nation, they wish wish W-I-S-H that Palin would stop calling, stop rubbing up to them in public. She is the nightmare tart that won't go away.
Windbagh is in love with her because they're both malignant narcissists: a thing Levi could undoubtedly attest to in spades. One can only imagine the closed-door tantrums and threats the venomous aerial wolf-killer has dished out, that Levi only hints at today. I guarantee that her biggest problem in a nutshell is that her ego was not properly limelighted. And the more I hear about her book [because I refuse to subsidize her in any way and buy it], the more it appears that this is true.
She's just a horrible person who represents a horrible mentality all-around on the GOP's behalf. From the cheap lipglossed bimbos at their propaganda outlet [Faux "News"] to their disregard for women in general in nearly all their platforms, it's clear that women in their ranks are mere political chattel. And Sarah Palin is THE paramount example of that.
And you watch, in true victim form she will apologize for the very system that invisibly or otherwise denigrates her gender. She may bitch about it but in the end she will, like all other women raised to be just like her, stand up and defend her masters in the end.
Misleading first paragraph. McCain isn't being attacked. McCain's campaign people are being attacked and rightfully so. They should have never brought Palin up as a serious VP contender. They didn't know anything about her…hardly spent any time doing the proper research. Had no idea of her negatives. Once the campaign failed, they start attacking her. As if it is her fault that they lost. Like she is the one that insisted on butting her nose into the first stimulus package after a deal had already been done.
Had McCain picked Romney, they would have won. Romney was the perfect VP for the financial crisis.
