Palin will need to stay out in order to give Huckabee a chance. If she wants her ideology to control the party, she'll back Huck. If she is more interested in her own glory, she'll run and take Huck down with her. Romney will most likely win.

Um....I think that's part of "The Plan". I suspect most of those taking pot shots at Palin from the left realize just how much it riles up the right. So they keep doing it. Keep poking that stick in that open sore, y'know?

Personally, speaking as someone who falls in the slightly-left-of-center camp, I really hope that Palin does have some sort of national political aspirations in mind. I really, really, REALLY do - if there was any one single figure that could keep the republicans out of power for years to come, it would be her.

Scummy attacks on Palin by the Left are lofting her more than the social conservatives' enamoration or adoration of her. The only thing constraining this phenenomenon right now is that scummy attacks have also kept Carrie Prejean alive and well (and also doing well with publicity and likely book sales).

Those two guys are the front-runners, it appears. Thune, Pawlenty are flirting in the back of the pack. (Sanford may have disqualified himself!)

Palin, who knows. Maybe a talk show or some other public-relations role, as Ben Stein noted aloud in criticising her recently (in a refreshingly normal manner). Could be as a future GOP party official as well as PR appearance person, who knows. Senator from Alaska, also, whether or not in association with a future presidential run. She seems to still not be up to snuff and not following the standard expectation of going back to Alaska, doing her homework, and polishing things before trying again. She's "gone rogue," definitely, in this light.

Palin just does not have the demographics to win in 2012. Perhaps after she tweaks her persona a bit, she'll have a chance in 2016. As I've stated…… Huckabee / Romney seems to be the going vibe.

I have no idea why but around 2008 the GOP decided victimhood and identity politics were the new winning strategies. The last time a party decided that was the Dems in the early 70's and things did not turn out so well for them. I was raised in the “liberals are whiners” era but to be honest I can stomach the GOP version even less, instead they just remind me of David Duke and not only do I not want to vote for them, I want to punch them. I can control myself but I find it odd that I have such a violent reaction to them, maybe this is how the 70's GOP felt toward 70's liberals as they got their whine on. It would explain why they still think they exist 40 years later now that the worm seems to have turned.

She'll make a run and fail. She'll be splitting votes with Huckabee. Anyone who thinks she doesn't have a future is not being honest with themself. Sure, they can hope, but she has the political support of millions of Americans. That means she belongs in politics…like it or not.
