Keith Olbermann And The Kettle
In a recent broadcast MNSBC reporter/commentator Keith Olbermann attacked the New York Post for reportedly having an agenda to ‘get Obama’. According to the broadcast there has been a semi-official policy at the Rupert Murdoch owned newspaper to do all they can to attack the Obama administration.
Now to make it clear I’d would like to say that while I’ve not seen proof of this allegation I certainly would not be surprised if it was true and it is perfectly proper to report it. Further if they have done this it is completely wrong for any news organization or news reporter to discard journalistic integrity in place of a political agenda.
But I find it bemusing at best (closer to hypocritical) for Olbermann to express outrage at this story. Here is a many who spent every moment of every day since he started at MSNBC doing everything he could to destroy the Bush administration, the Republican party, and indeed anyone more conservative than Bernie Sanders.
So while I think it’s wrong for the Post (and just to save people time also Fox News) to push a political agenda over journalistic integrity it is also wrong for Olbermann and MSNBC to do so.

I don't know… I mean, I'll give you that Olbermann is no Bush fan, and yes, he's much farther left than I could ever dream of going. He's given me plenty of eye roll moments.
But there are exceptions to the rule. He seems to have a soft spot for Libertarians. I'll never forget his interview with the Libertarian candidate for governor of Alabama a few years back. I also doubt that he's agreed with everything Ron Paul has said, but then he's also complemented and backed them on several points, too. I know his buddy Rachel Maddow has given Paul's son, Rand, a boost early on in.
Just to add a conservative point to this, the same can really be said of some of the right-wing reporters. I'll stand by my statement that to this day the best interview that Obama has given was with Bill O'Reilly.
I have to agree with you on the O'Reilly interview of Obama.
He wasn't too rough, but he wasn't slobbering over him either.
That, to me, is journalistic intergrity. Not much of that on either side for a long time.
O'Reilly and Shep Smith are the only ones I watch on Fox – for that very reason. I'll switch over to CNN for some left-of-center reporting when the conservo-journalists are on Fox.
Sorry but K.O. didn't have to go out to destroy Bush & the Republican party, all he had to do was the play by play. Anyone who thinks that the rethugs didn't self-destruct, thanks to Dubya/Darth is delusional.
Olbermann is a direct product of “nature seeks balance”. Without the need, he would not be a topic of discussion here.
“nature seeks balance”
No more than supercriticality and the associated nuclear chain reaction. But leftward shouldn't be limited?
