–[For history is filled with heroes. You may remember the stories of a grandfather who marched across Europe; an uncle who fought in Vietnam; a sister who served in the Gulf. But as we honor the many generations who have served, all of us — every single American — must acknowledge that this generation has more than proved itself the equal of those who’ve come before]–

It's ABOUT TIME that was said!

This acknowledgment alone helps slip the Vietnam war, (for me), a little farther into oblivion. I think this because most Vietnam vets are stunned by the constant rotation of military personnel into the war zones over and over again AND holding them to the full six year obligation. Many of us are worried that their brains are going to be fried because of it. The idea is almost unthinkable. Then the debriefing physiatrist becomes the enemy! Bizaro mind bending crap there.
