Arab World ‘Impotent’ but to Witness Iran’s Ascent to Dominance: Le Quotidien d’Oran of Algeria

JUST WESTERN BLUSTER BEFORE THE INEVITABLE DEAL?

Could it be that at the end of this tortuous process of negotiating with Iran, the United States and the West will arrive at some sort of entente with Tehran that leaves America’s current Arab allies out in the cold?

That is precisely the prediction of Le Quotidien d’Oran Kharroubi Habib, who sounds this clarion call to his Arab brethren to prepare for the Iranian regional superpower – who will believe it or not – do Washington’s bidding.

For Algeria’s Le Quotidien d’Oran, Kharroubi Habib writes in part:

“The entire Arab world is impotent but to witness Iran’s ascent to power – to the point of timidly seeking the umbrella of the West and Israel – and paying any price to reach a compromise with them. As a result, we must dispense with Western depictions of Iranian leaders as the inveterate negotiators and talkers of the ‘international community.’ This is not the view of diplomats and embassies in this part of the world, where our people skills and ‘finesse’ have been smashed by the deft maneuvering and pragmatism of these Iranian leaders.

“Alongside Israel and Turkey, Iran is now a dominant power in this region and beyond in the direction of Central Asia.

“This status will mean that Iran will be gradually integrated into the geostrategic machinery that the United States seeks to constitute in order to guarantee its continued control over the energy riches of the region, with local gendarmes to ‘contain’ the terrorist nuisance.”

Algeria – Le Quotidien d’Oran – Original Article (French)
Iranian regime is unsavory. Its leaders aren’t respectable even to the eyes of the most lukewarm democrat. That being said, it’s important not treat them like unrealistic idealists who don’t know what they want.

Yeah well Algeria didn't complain when Bechtel build a giant gas pipeline the length of their country allowing Algeria to sell more of their "natural wealth" to the west all funded by the world bank. Maybe Mr.Habib should count his blessings.
