The Storming of the U.S. Embassy: ‘A Day that Shook the World’ – Kayhan, Islamic Republic of Iran

Two of the 53 American Embassy workers being held hostage with the approval of the Iranian regime, after the facility was stormed on November 4, 1979.

Thirty years ago today, the American Embassy in Tehran was stormed by followers of the late Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. It is a day that the current regime commemorates every year as a celebration of victory over what the leaders of the country like to call ‘The Great Satan.’

So what is Iran’s rigidly state-controlled press saying about it? Failing to mention the large number of counter-demonstrations that took place today, for Iran’s Kayhan newspaper, columnist Kian Mokhtari writes in small part:

“On that fateful day in 1979, to thwart Washington’s plots against the young Islamic Revolution, Iranian university students took over the building. These actions of the Iranian nation shook the Great Satan to his very evil core and have transformed the way people around the world view the United States and its pitiful allies.

“Despite momentary setbacks from within brought about by men who have lost their faith, dignity – or indeed their sanity – Iranians stand united against tyranny. To the sell-outs who believed that their CIA-backed, $450 million designer uprising would shake the faith of the Iranian nation and curtail the Islamic revolution, we say: come and taste our metal if you think you’re strong enough!”

Human beings are a long way from perfection. While preaching tolerance they err and mace one another physically, spiritually and psychologically. But God and his prophets are not in the business of taking mankind’s instincts away.

Take your religion and shove it where the sun don't shine Mohammed. Every day, more and more people like me, thinking with logic and without fear, will wipe you begging cowards off the face of the earth.

It's a shame that the U.S. Gov. didn't express more support for the brave pro USA Iranians that demonstrated yesterday and risked their lives and freedom.
