True — not questioning holy lib shibboleths related to Big Government and an oversized Washington. Pathetic. The problem is that right now, the GOP is facing a stacked deck (including a liberal media) in all attempts to correct this (painting anyone as “extremist” a la post-1994's Big Lie). Compounding this is who is getting involved, such as the Club for Growth (reported on NPR this morning about just this election). In addition to the “extremist” squawking, there may well be resentment in places outside the Northeast Corridor proper in the Northeast that aren't so much about ideology, but about resenting the intrusion of outsiders and especially think tanks and other hangers-on from guess where, Washington.

If anything Scozzafava shows what a dead in moderate, Democratic-lite politics will become. Why suck up and appease political groups that will never support the moderate Republicans if anyone with a (D) next to their name is on the ballot.

Scozzafava has made a concerted effort to shrink the base of her support and now she is whining because her own incompetence has lost her support and the liberal Democrats who she sucked up to have abandoned her.
