I'm sure the redstaters would turn on Rush too if he stopped meeting their very stringent (la la land) requirements. That they are disappointed with Gingrich is pretty funny though. Ah… what a country!

Newt Gingrich endorsed Dede Scozzafava. As a result, Gingrich is no longer a conservative.

New York is a disgrace. Albany has been synonymous with “dysfunctional” (still eclipsing the GOP, which has managed to acquire that label in the past 1-3 years).

This is not about “extremism,” but merely true conservatives' disenchantment with too much Business as Usual from a number of Republicans. This is little different to most people from Toomey being sent up against Specter (which itself was no example of “extremism,” except among the lefties who chose to mis-apply that word then).

The extremists are more interested in purging the “impure” than they are in electing R's or D's. This article is one example from the far right, but we have seen examples from the far left as well in recent months publicly attacking Blue Dogs over health care positions. It is a mistake to assume that those on the extremes are regular R's or D's.
