Really the only truly conservative female that I can listen to is Kay Bailey Hutchinson.

Cheney, Palin, Bachmann, Coulter, Malkin, Schmidt, Ingraham— where do they find women with so little compassion??

I noticed the learning thing was passe when we invaded Iraq, despite the disastrous experience of the British during the 20's and 30's— forced “democracy” was not a hot item back then either

I'm currently reading “Vice” which is reminding me just how dangerous Cheney was to OUR democracy!
Since he wasn't running for reelection in 2008, and since he had been a part of almost every Republican administration since Nixon, he wielded unprecedented power under a veil of unprecedented secrecy. That's why every gaffe that comes out of Joe Biden's mouth makes me smile.

Well, Lynne Cheney is currently on the losing side with the social conservatives' position on culture wars, because she and her husband have a gay daughter. (To what extent recent GOP politicians' pecadilloes have contributed also to the foundering, in addition to lib Dem preeminence in Washington, is an open question, too.)

With Dick Cheney, I still wonder, to what extent he favors accomodation with Iran and opening of the Iranian petroleum markets to not only Dubai-based relocated US business firms, but mainland US firms someday.

Well, if anything, once more Maureen Dowd, the most vapid, nothing-"producting" writer alive, gets more credit than she deserves (zero to negative infinity).

The criticism of Cheney on this Web site is more worthwhile.

I'll defend Cheney against the worst attacks, but I did note that his "dueling speeches" counterpart to Obama's about Guantanamo and torturing suspects was a flop insofar as torture is concerned, for all he did was try to defend the practice of torture, by saying it worked. (This was where Obama easily "won" and Cheney "lost" the "duel" over expressed related policy positions.)

Cheney and the Bushes and related people also have been willing to short-change or betray Israel over foreign policy, as they openly take the Arabist or Islamist position excessively, though not necessarily due to anti-Semitism, but instead because of petroleum (energy) interests, favoring those personally as well as in the conventional way Americans often value petroleum more than Israel among interests in the Middle East.

Its sad that Liz has become a carbon copy of her dad. Wasn't 8 years of him bad enough? He gave so many freebies away to GOP supporters– like Ken Lay– and allowed the oil companies to write our energy policy without input from environmental groups.
Maps of Iraq were found divied up by the multinationals after some of those early meetings.

He and Wolfowitz were more to blame for the Iraq fiasco than anyone else.

Maybe Liz sees a future run at the presidency in her future.

I have no doubt there are folks who are infatuated with the idea of Liz Cheney and the role they look forward to seeing her play in the continuing rightwing roadshow. How long will it take for them to figure out that it's been a comedy all along? Will they ever?
