Two guys from Council on Foreign Relations were on a CNN show yesterday, including Stephen Biddle, who presented the case in favor of more action in Afghanistan, to prevent losing it to the Taliban or for it to become once more a terrorism sanctuary and base of operations (such as for al Qaeda). Biddle was really sharp on that program, remarkably so. Related material from him on the subject is found here.

("Prepared Testimony")

http://www.cfr.org/publication/20220/

I've asked this same question over and over again...

Are we willing to allow the Taliban to retake Afghanistan? Are we okay will the public execution of women for entertainment? Women will be completely oppressed again...education banned. Now I realize that this was the situation there before we invaded, but how many of us actually knew how bad it really was? And now that our, my, ignorance has been crushed by the reality of that knowledge, are we really okay with allowing it to happen again?

If we leave, it will.

Now if we can pull out and somehow manage to keep the Taliban from retaking the country...I am all for it.

Side note..
"I want all of our brave soldiers to come home safely and honorably".

I could really care less about leaving honorably. I'll take one less dead soldier over leaving "honorably" any day.
