Aside from the lesser issue of possible Obama personality-cult swooning (given the timing of when he was selected for this year's award), there is the chance the US public would still have been thanked -- excuse me, Hillary Clinton would have been rewarded -- for taking the USA on another, leftist-preferred course of action, or at least of feelings (this leftist award was about feeling, not thinking, about "promising," not about doing, about "Hope" and only potential, not accomplished, "Change"). And don't forget, this was a slap at Bush and a reward of the public (though not admitted as such) for not electing another Republican President this time.
