"I think the Norwegian judges may have been smoking to many herring reefers."

They can find someone in California to reward (heyy, mann -- peace!) if pot is legalized there next year.

"Ask Oslo why he got it, it's not the Administration's fault."

Note that the criticism is largely directed at Oslo (the Committee) and at the Prize's being a bigger joke than ever this year.

And unlike a certain earlier Clinton instance [ahem], this Prize isn't seen as having been lobbied for, before it was awarded. (Obama seemed truly surprised and embarrassed by the award, and handled the issue deftly.) That's the real "zinger" attribute, if anything, about this statement and position by State.

Obama, please note: Ghandi did not have shoes, only sandals. Perhaps if someone had thrown shoes at Ghandi, maybe he too would have won a Nobel Peace Prize- he never did. I think the Norwegian judges may have been smoking to many herring reefers.

The State Department's right - it's better than shoes. But really, why are we asking them to defend Obama's prize? Ask Oslo why he got it, it's not the Administration's fault.

More Washington left-wing barrel scraping -- no big news at all.

All the goings-on in Washington (Dems, GOP, media) are but a sordid side show normal people despise.

The fringe defenders of the award (and attackers of the many critics, even on the Left, of this award, which was siller and more shallow than ever this year) only exhibit their low intelligence as well as low conduct, once more. They aren't even forthright enough to want "HOPE" and "CHANGE" engraved on a medallion, or for Obama's portrait to replace Nobel's, or (to "progress" beyond this early stunt-only award to what people ask already, what's next for Obama?) to have the award renamed the Barack Obama Hope and Change (if not Peace) Prize.
