Fox News has pulled off another dominant quarter, claiming the top 10 cable news programs in 3Q 2009 and growing against 3Q 2008, while CNN and MSNBC lost substantial portions of their election-boom audience.
Fox News averaged 2.25 million total viewers in prime time for the third quarter, up 2% over the previous year. That’s more than CNN (946,000, down 30%) and MSNBC (788,000, down 10%) combined.
The O’Reilly Factor remains the leader of all cable programs. Glenn Beck is up 89% over last year.
Talk radio's ratings have been shown to be the result of relatively few people listening for many hours a day. I suspect this is also true of Fox News. While most people watch 30 minutes of a broadcast to catch up on the news Fox's viewers tend to watch many hours a day.
That's quite an airtight analysis there, Merkin. You forgot to add that Fox viewers no doubt turned on 2 televison sets in order to increase the viewership percentages too.
Sorry, which column in the chart identified the white viewers from the non-white?
I think it's much more simpler than all of that.
How do you play the race card?
That's easy.
Become a partisan hack in your party. It comes naturally.
After the past 8 years of Bush and 6 of Rep controlled congress…then the economic failures that followed…increase in national debt…unfinished wars…destroyed standing in the international community…
Republicans need their daily affirmations now more than ever.
After the past 9 months of Obama and two years of Dem controlled congress…then the stimulus boondoggle that followed….increase in the national debt to pay off the union supporters….likely surrender in two wars….fecklessness and weakness displayed to the international community….
Republicans need their daily affirmations that it will only be 3 years and 3 months more now more than ever.
I'll give you the stimulus mess, but …
“increase in the national debt to pay off the union supporters….likely surrender in two wars….fecklessness and weakness displayed to the international community”
…is just Glenn Beck style partisan hackery.
And believe me…I know that left wingers go to MSNBC to get their daily affirmations. MSNBC doesn't have as many viewers because a lot of their would be viewers can't afford cable.
