“President Obama and his Administration have decided that in order to get re-elected, they must raise hundreds of millions of dollars in campaign contributions which requires pleasing a large number of very wealthy past and future constituents and contributors.”

Why would he do that? He has demonstrated that he can raise HUGE amounts of money as small contributions by millions of people. You are assuming that large contributions from corporations and the rich are the motivation for what he does, but it doesn't hold water.

Dear Shannonlee: I sometimes put my headlines in all CAPS. So do others here. For me, it's often an accident. Had cap-keys on, and didnt realize it. There's a WordPress thing, that when you move into the body of the article, it doesnt take caps automatically. Just saying. It could be meant. Or he can get the Public Option passed and assure people that a republican rival will unravel it. 80% of the american public support the Public Option. All the usual gyrations won't be required. In fact, the next presidential election might be one of the cheapest ones to win in recent memory..

If that's his only priority, he is in serious trouble...

As one of the "far left liberals" on this site, I have to say that so far I have been extremely disappointed, Guatanamo is still open, the war in Iraq still rages on, Afghanistan is a first class disaster in the making, Universal Health Care is about as far away now as it was 10 years ago, the economy sucks and Wall Street is back to its usual shenanigans. The "Knuckle Dragging Neanderthals" are not going to vote for him no matter what, and the non-political joe six-pack is going to vote against the incumbent if the unemployment rate doesn't improve radically between now and then.

So far he has manage to piss off his supporters, has not brought in the goods for Joe Six-Pack (Jobs or failing that Heads of Wall Street Executives on a pike) and is held in contempt by his opposition, This might make the villagers happy, but it's a recipe for electoral disaster in 2012.
