The true number in the NYT poll was 65 percent, and 9 percent undecided. (let me guess who will dismiss it because it is NYT)

[snicker] Along with debasing the Presidency, the Chicago 2016 lobbying is widely interpreted as his effectively jumping into Lake Michigan insofar as the fire for health care “reform” [sic; federal takeover] by his fellow lib Dems is concerned currently. What it does as far as leaving more of an impression than before of an impulsive, inept, rushed, crafting-policy-on-a-whim Dem “leadership” remains to be determined. They certainly are in a nose dive and need damage control and recovery more than ever now with health care “reform.” (Will the lib Dems in the House push hard now for the public option?)

I don't doubt Obama's compassion at all. Yet on top of that, 80% of the People want a public option. That's more than he got elected with by a wide margin. I imagine he passed math in grade school; a subject the bluedogs and the GOP apparently failed..
