The House has followed the example of the Senate in denying funding to ACORN because of the recent scandal involving then seeming to aid people in tax fraud and importing sex slaves.
The Senate vote was 83-7 while the House vote was 345-75. In both cases the 82 members who voted to keep funding ACORN were from the liberal wing of the Democratic party.
In both cases the vote will not take effect until the bills are signed by the President (I am presuming he will sign given the veto proof majorities in both Houses).
Here is a link to the House roll call

Rich white people get corrupt and we fork over billions. Poor black people get corrupt, well now, they must be held accountable.
I actually agree with you, hilarys.
Accountability is gone in America. In Congress, in the Whitehouse, in corporations, and in everyday individual life. Everyone blames everyone but themselves.
A little honor would do us ALL some good.

Remember this at voting time folks.
So far its 5 ACORN offices not just an isolated affair.
Baltimore
D.C.
New York
San Bernadino
San Diego
and more to come I understand.
Whats particularly funny is the ACORN CEO already had issued a statement claiming San Diego and New York had turned them away, then after those videos were released had to ammend her statement.
The original statement

Ooops…
Of course John Stewart and Jay Leno got freash material:

I found the Stewart piece to be particularly hilarious right to the end where he goes after Michelle Malkin.
They enjoy the lib-Dem advantage — ACORN people may not be going to jail, as they should.
It's hilarious how many would stoop so low as to defend ACORN still. (Maybe they'll still be used by the Dems in the Census, unofficially — it's certainly something people like that wouldn't hesitate to do.)
Now, wouldn't it be interesting if Obama were to veto this legislation ending funding of this crime gang?
Meanwhile, the serious question may or may not apply: Is this act a bill of attainder, or not?
It is not actual punishment, criminal penalties, etc., but just ending funding previously enacted.
“So far its 5 ACORN offices not just an isolated affair.”
Americans: “RI-CO! RI-CO! RI-CO!”
Extremists: “Ra-cist! Ra-cist! Ra-cist!”
“So far its 5 ACORN offices not just an isolated affair.”
I would say 5 out of over 1,400 offices seems pretty isolated to me.
Davebo, lets look at this in the same way liberals…and myself…looked at Abu Ghraib. If it is happening in 1 place, odds are that it is happening in more than one place. Odds are that Acorn has created an environment where this sort of behavior is tolerated.
If you viewed Abu Ghraib as a top-down, Bush admin problem, then logically you should also agree that acorn has a top-down institutional problem.
“If you viewed Abu Ghraib as a top-down, Bush admin problem, then logically you should also agree that acorn has a top-down institutional problem.”
If you find the memo from Acorn top management authorizing it's employees to give advice to ludicrously dressed kids trying to appear as pimps and hookers then that logic would indeed apply.
I'm not defending their actions. Just pointing out that it was fairly isolated.

Hmm…I think Cheney said something those lines in regards to Abu Ghraib.
I don't think anyone can defend their actions, but I don't think many Americans believe that this is an isolated incident. I don't think the young pimp had the time or funding to visit all 1400 locations.
Well, even those at the top of ACORN (like Rathke) have been far from angelic.
(For those who didn't know:)

Nice title — similar to T-Steel's thread (may this organization be RICO-roasted sometime soon!):
