If you are so sure about the numbers for and against the public option in the general population, this boycott/reward should not bother you one bit.

It doesn't.. I laugh at it the same way I laugh at my conservative friend's boycott of Ben & Jerry's. But if it make him happy more power to him. He can sit in the car while the rest of us enjoy our ice cream inside.

No online dough for South Carolina businesses this Holiday season unless a full and sincere public apology is given by Wilson. It isn't hard. Just two words, "I'm sorry". And for the other states, their head leadership [governors] can take a position pro or con for the public option and people who want the public option spend, or not, accordingly.

If you are so sure about the numbers for and against the public option in the general population, this boycott/reward should not bother you one bit.

"Never mind that the President was exposed as wrong, and this is kept quiet"

Keep on making up your own facts, dude.

Anyway, these numbers seem about right. A lot of people are concerned about undocumented immigrants getting tax-funded healthcare under this plan, but I think even they saw that this guy was out of line. Maybe those in the "outraged" category know a little about the racist history of this particular representative, and connected it both to Obama's race and the particular subject he was addressing at the time. I would say "outraged" for this reason.

There is such a thing as decorum you know, especially when the President addresses Congress. Juvenile shouting matches belong outside that forum. One only has to pause to wonder how the good old boys of the Cheney administration [lower case "a" on purpose] would've received such an outburst from a lunatic left member of the House. I think there'd be more than a wet-noodle slap.

So because there is just a wet-noodle slap from our toothless leadership in Congress, the citizens can boycott the entire State of South Carolina this holiday online shopping. Just look at the address of the site you're browsing and if the address says "South Carolina" don't buy. Move onto a state that has the same product that supports the Public Option. Couldn't be easier. You don't even have to get up off your butt to send a message.

There's nothing more powerful than reprimands from one's own constituents who have the power to unseat you vs some colleagues you have little or no respect for anyway.

Never mind that the President was exposed as wrong, and this is kept quiet.

Meanwhile, this stupid engineered overreaction to Joe Wilson (as with the protestors in DC), which never should have extended to the previous Saturday, is continuing its lowly way at least as far as Wednesday the next week (today). Degenerate as well as ridiculous. I guess that's how some would face the fact that the President was wrong about illegal immigrants, or whenever perhaps he is wrong.

Well said........I get the impression that pollsters are out to create sensation moreso than to quantify meaningful information. In that regard, pollsters are merely more well-compensated bloggers.

I find this poll question to be misleading. I mean, are they asking if people disprove of what he said or are they asking if people disprove of how he said it? Would the number be the same if people were polled on whether or not they agreed with the sentiments of Wilson's (R - Jerkstore) comments? Of course it was rude to act like a Kanye West while the President was speaking but it would be more interesting to see whether or not voters backed his sentiments as opposed to his actions.

OMG!! Not...*shudders*...nnnnot the slap of the wet noodle!

..lol..

Yes, imagine the democrats looking strong and authoritative. Why, it might even rope in more of the fenceline republicans who respect that sort of thing and may only have decided to be republicans based on not wanting to identify with the party of wet-noodle whippers..

placeofnopity dot com has a solution to censuring Mr. Wilson where our leaders have failed. He inspired the site's genesis.

He's not being censured, anyway. He's being presented (if that's the word) with a resolution of disapproval, which is the mildest form of formal rebuke Congress has.

. Push it and there will be a potential backlash like what happened to the GOP when they pushed the Lewinsky scandal too far.

Censuring a congress-critter and impeaching a President after a seven year witch hunt are not even close to being identical.

Backlash, who cares? it's not like Republicans are going to go out and vote for a Democrat anytime in the near future... And on the upside it might convince some independents that Democrats are willing and able to stand up and fight for themselves.

Sorry Father Time but 77% of the nation apparently disagrees with you, according to Joe's poll. They want Congress and the nation to move on and get to work and not engage in petty partisan revenge. Push it and there will be a potential backlash like what happened to the GOP when they pushed the Lewinsky scandal too far. But if you want to be just like those right-wingers who did that, go right ahead. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery after all.

This man's disgusting outburst is inexcusable, inexplicable, and, in line with Republican media persona. This man must be bent and damaged for his unscrupulous attack now glorified by corrupt and evil radio and TV personalities.

I Demand That the House of Representatives Censure this low life for his actions!
