		<description>Well thought and argued article. I wish all should go through such marvels as Gita overriding their individual religious preferences. Because if seen through colored religious glasses the gist of these marvels get lost.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;In this context I remember an old but interesting incident that our friend late  Mr Prem kumar, then local editor of Indian Express, had narrated. &lt;br&gt;One of his deeply religious minded Sikh friend, settled in the US, was a regular reciter of Sukhmani Sahib, a select portion from sri guru granth sahib. Once he happened to read a translated version of Gita. &lt;br&gt;Incidentally there is a verse in Sukhmani Sahib that seemingly is a virtual translation of the essence of Gita, &quot;karman ev adhikar astey Ma faleyshu.....&quot;. however without realizing the fact that Guru Granth Sahib is of a much recent origin than Mahabharta, he told Mr prem kumar, with a sense of inflated pride, that he has found a verse i in the Gita that  has been &#039;lifted&#039; from Guru Granth sahib!
