Thank you for your comments, and, no, your suggestions are not silly at all.

As I mentioned in the post, the task before the JPAC is daunting, almost impossible, and I would hope that any help or ideas offered would be welcomed by those “in positions of authority.”

If you go to the JPAC site (http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/index.php?page=home&i… ), you'll find a lot of good information that might help you in drafting your suggestion(s).

JPAC is manned by active duty military and Department of the Navy civilians, but they do offer a number of unique fellowship opportunities such as Anthropologist, Historian, forensics, laboratory technician, etc.

From reading the requirements for military applicants, you'll also get an idea as to what skills are helpful to them: Communications, Aircrew/Life Support , Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Medical, Linguistics.

Anyway, the site has a wealth of information, references and contacts that may help you with your social networking ideas.

Gosh, you even got me interested in this now.

The next time I get to make “suggestions to the white house” on their social sites I will bring this up because these men need to be found and many, myself included, would be happy to volunteer time for the effort. I know it will probabl not make it far but if the meme picks up it may happen eventually and I think the results would be impressive.

“Hold it I know someone that lives in that town, I play WOW with them. Let me tell him to go digging or help him rent a metal detector to check that area.”

I to would have thought this insane before a few years ago but Slashdot, Digg and Reddit have shown me the global reach and power of social network/news sites and their abilities to share information talent knowledge and an interest in helping one another. Thanks for posting this.
