There's nothing "unthinking," "innocuous," or "spontaneous" about what they are doing.

Of course, they're trying to exploit not only children but ignorant or collaborating "adults," too.

I actually complained to my congressman, (D), about a local public television show that featured a conservative, (R), senator teaching government to children. My complaint was that he kept going on about lowering taxes, a quirk specific to conservatives. (This conservative is well known nationally from both before and during the first Bush administration)

I actually got a phone call from my congressman! My, congressman, whom I have immense respect and affection for, but has since died, chewed by butt, (in a very politically correct sort of way), for my complaint and gave ME a little instruction in government.

I was quite taken aback by this event. Unfortunately now, these whacko’s have used up all of their objective and intellectual credentials for their party and NOBODY will stand with them, even on principal.

The writing assignment is now a moot point, since it was worded better for the purpose it was designed. It now has them writing a letter to themselves about how they can set goals for themselves and then achieve them. And yes, the White House did acknowledge that the original version was really badly worded.

Actually, no. But let's just pretend. The recommendation went out to have the little darlings write letters to themselves, asking what they can do to help George W. Bush. Then the used-food hit the rotary oscillatory device, and the backpedaling started. You'd come riding to Bush's defense, right? Of course you would. Right?
