As the U.S. becomes a one party state, we should all get used to having more Charlie Rangel's in Congress. Senior rules and having a super safe district means that Charlie Rangel can thumb his nose at the rules and stick it to the man all he wants. The voters is his district benefit more from voting for him than they suffer from the poor policies he supports.

Remember, to the blacks in Rangel's distrrcit, taxes are something that whites are suppose to pay.

I was never completely joking about Eliot Spitzer, a textbook Dem, trying to seek office again, and it's not surprising that there's talk now of his going after a Senate seat (and keeping whatever ambitions for the Presidency he may have, or other Dems may have for him, alive).

After all, given how the Dems have been behaving now that they're ungoverned, is it surprising?

This guy needs to be tossed in jail. It feels like our political “shifts” are determined by the level of corruption of the ruling party and how sick of it we become.

The Dems would be smart to try to rid themselves of these criminals before they suffer the same fate as the GOP.

You have to realize, Jazz, that Charlie Rangel is among those Dems most strongly opposed to “pay-as-you-go” or “PAYGO” as it's often referred to, and in particular to having “PAYGO” constrain the current health care effort. (This specific issue, and exempting health care from PAYGO, was in the news some months ago.) That's the kind of legislator you want on your side when you want no limits.

How? Like she always does. By putting loyalty to her over all other considerations. Ask Murtha.

This is just another example that neither party has any real sense of ethics, and those that feel their party is the 'clean' one are willfully blind to politics and reality.
