He killed dogs and went to jail for 2 years. People in the NFL like Ray Lewis have killed people and not gone to jail. Jamal Lewis sold drugs. The NFL has plenty of thugs, Michael Vick belongs there.

Killing animals is one of the signs of a KILLER. I don't want him near ANY animals. I don't want him near my daughter either. He'll have to do alot more than talk... giving most of his millions to animal causes would be a good start.

Did the dogs Michael, killed, get a second chance? I think NOT!

Whats goes around comes around. A felony charge should carry, no rifles,no drugs, no bars, and no nfl football. Is he a good mentor for our children. I think NOT.!

Get him out of the picture, the scum bag.

Mike Vick Mike Vick Mike Vick... His actions was unethical and he may feel remorse because he need a job or maybe the jail time really gave him a chance to think about what he did. Who knows!!! For sure he need rehab , and alot of it, there is something mentally wrong with a person who harm animals. I feel he deserves a second chance. I think he is realizing the impact of what he has done and more so as the season goes on when once a starting quater plays back up for McNabb. I think Mike is a better player then Mc Nabb, but he has to start somewhere. You dig a hole you lay in it.

As long as Vick has served his prison term, anyone that wants to hire him should be able. Of course you can argue that his prison term was too short or that he shouldn't be hired by the Eagles. But the only way they'll listen is if it hurts their bottom line.

I'm a big sports fan and hear all the time about how "he's paid much much more than most who have done much worse". But my mom always taught me that two wrongs dont make a right. The extension of that is that because one person doesn't get punished as severely means that this person didn't deserve what he got. There are the usual blanket statements in this case of "well murders/rapists/child molesters don't go to prison for as long". And while in certain cases that may be true, I think most would agree that those more serious crimes deserve longer sentences. That does not in any way mean that Vick did not deserve his 18 months.

That said, it also doesn't mean that he doesn't deserve a second chance because other (poorer) people are not given a chance. It is a highly normative proposition, which many will have different opinions on. Clearly some believe that cruelty to animals, while bad, is not that horrific compared to some other crimes. Others think it is the worst thing possible and that people like Vick should never get a second chance. Personally I think that felony status should not be used to discriminate against people in general, with several large caveats. On that principle, Vick should get his second chance. And I was generally impressed by his 60 Minutes interview, mainly because I don't think he's smart enough to be that good an actor. I think his actions over the next two years will determine whether I route for or against him. As he said in that interview, his actions have to speak louder than his words.

Whatever is in a person’s soul that permits him to torture and murder animals doesn’t quickly disappear because of a prison sentence and the public remorse that will lead to a job that may again make him a multi-millionaire.

18 months in prison and basically a fine of over 105 million dollars, probably more.

But that's not enough?

No one loves dogs more than I but seriously, what's it going to take? He's a stunt in Philadelphia which will most likely not pick up their option next year. He's 20 million in debt.

If he's incredibly lucky he may be able to dig out of the hole he's made for himself.

I say cut him some slack. While I abhor what he did, he's paid much much more than most who have done much worse.
