Quote of the Day: Is Healthcare Reform Becoming A Lose-Lose For Obama? »
Another beautiful image of the day from NASA, combining data from two different space-based telescopes.

I often loose myself for hours looking at NASA and other sites that have space photography. Its soothing yet humbling to look at this type of cosmic beauty.
A little more impressive than the tiny smudge it looks like through my 8″ reflector.

Thanks JSpenser that brought a smile to my face, let me tell you as a fellow enthusiast I know that feeling.
I wonder if we can get cash for clunker telescopes if we buy a more “efficient” version?
Beautiful in a very intense way. It's almost frightening, to me at least. It's overwhelming. I don't find it soothing, but I do find it humbling!
I find it very soothing, It tells me no matter how badly we human beings and or governments and cultures can possibly screw up, it likely wont mean a whole lot in the grander schemes of the universe.
Leonidas, that may be the only thing we ever agree on, but I do agree with you on that one.
Yup, me too. I get a similar feeling when I'm at the ocean.
@ Kathy
“Leonidas, that may be the only thing we ever agree on, but I do agree with you on that one.”
I seriously doubt it, I think people agree on most things, its how to achieve those things where disagreements take place and even then, I think there is more agreement than disagreement. We tend to focus a lot of energy where we disagree is all and often lose a sense of proportion due to it. Then we see a picture like this and get reminded.
I have many friends as liberal as you are, and friends who consider me a “RINO” pulicically (some have even called me a democrat since I liked Clinton) we have diner at restaurants we all like, cheer for the same team while drinking the same brand of beer, we all have fun playing with the kids together, etc. And we all go out for ice cream together (although we can't go to Ben & Jerry's as one of my friends boycotts them), and we all enjoy each other's company immensely.
Lets face it, those pig headed Liberals/Conservative/Independents/Moderates are actually in most cases very lovable folk.
