Get a grip on what? The rumors? What exactly are you accusing me of?

It is a myth promulgated by the far right that Valerie Plame was not covert. I am in awe that there are some diehards out there who won't admit to the truth after it was given in sworn testimony.

And, the real injustice is that Libby was prosecuted because he was covering up for Cheney.-(-who skated by after committing an act of treason and sabotaging a program that investigated Iran's nuclear proliferation.)

It was not a crime to reveal Valerie Plame's name because she was not a covert agent. If it had been a crime, Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald could have wrapped up his investigation with an indictment of the State Department's Richard Armitage on the first day of his investigation since it was Armitage who revealed her name and Fitzgerald knew it.

With no crime to investigate, Fitzgerald pursued a pointless investigation into nothing, getting a lot of White House officials to make statements under oath and hoping some of their recollections would end up conflicting with other witness recollections, so he could charge some Republican with “perjury” and enjoy the fawning media attention.

As a result, Libby is now a convicted felon for having a faulty memory of the person who first told him that Joe Wilson was a delusional boob who lied about his wife sending him to Niger.

The Plame Affair will go down in history as the biggest fraud and political witch hunt in U.S. history.

The dishonest pit bull prosecutor, Patrick Fitzgerald, ruined the career of Scooter Libby, and honest and decent guy.

Bob Novak was a coward for not revealing his source and putting an abrupt end to the entire sordid affair.

Rot in Hell, along with everyone else that endangers American service members for cheap political points, whether they be in uniform or not.

I do hope he finds peace.

he was an odd and complicated man who developed a persona that was not a match to his recent Catholic conversion a few years back… and he, like so many of the mews-rich journos of his time, was watching his way and his world, crumbling.

Though he resisted being supeona=ed to say what his part was in the Plame leak, sepcificially who leaked to him, and the allegation by some outside the system that he suppressed news of the rumored affair between Libby and a reporter from another newspaper… and how all that distracted from a time when the nation ought to have been focussing on why ten men were deciding to take the entire nation to war….

He clearly was ill earlier than he waas able to see. His hitting a pedestrian with his car, and the subsequent walking away from the scene, may have been the indicator that whatever illness he had, was also affecting motor coordination and judgement

It reminded me very much of how Ronald Reagan faded from the public scene when it became apparent that he had made some serious gaffes that were not seeming compis mentis. Same with Frank Sinatra. They took him off stage finally, when he could still sing, but began to wander and could not find the way onto or off stage.

I hope Robert rests in peace and that his family is comforted.
