The coverage in Canada is not free - I don't know why people think that. They pay taxes! But many would be happy to pay the taxes in place of the HUGE insurance premium and high deductible they have. The policy they pay for here can still kick them off, refuse to cover something and can cause them to go broke! The quote in the President's NYT OP-ED " Should people go broke if they get sick" says alot. Also in Cananda people can still purchase insurance for extra coverage - I don't think it is such a bad plan, or the plan in the UK for that matter. Bottom line is we really need to do something about this. People are dying and companies are getting rich off thier death.

If I did a poll on if people preferred free vs. not free about ANYTHING and didn't get 80%, that would be the shock.

Canada has single payer. In a recent poll, they were asked if they would rather stay single payer, or adopt our way. 82% preferred the single payer. Are 82% of Canadians stupid? Or do they know something our brave cartoonist does not?

Oh my GOD!!! Not, no....not SINGLE PAYER!!!!

I'd rather pay my outrageous premiums faithfully for years and then get dropped when I get sick like the good old days. Screw paying a low premium to a pool that will never deny me care...one supplimented by taxing harmful products such as sugar foods! Oh God! dear God NOOOOOOOOO!!!....

...LOL....

Ever watch Moore's "Sicko"? It makes single payer look like a gift from heaven above..
