swaraaj--

-[She rises early, meditates, and reads widely and eclectically, from the novels of John le Carré to Buddhist theology.]-- I've read nearly every book by John le Carré. Imagine, I have something in common with Suu Kyi.

-[Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela...and now Suu Kyi...a different class of people]--
...and how many thousands more that never became famous? I think I will add Stephen Hawking to that that list of yours.

Surely they realize they are only furthering her cause in the long run and demonizing they're own actions for falsely imprisoning her. This video interprets what the move by Burma's gov. might mean domestically and abroad. http://www.newsy.com/videos/myanmar_opposition_...

Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela...and now Suu Kyi...a different class of people.

People who kept faith in themselves and others.

Who treat life as romance...adventure...search for truth. And who take a holistic view of life.

Enlightened self-interest...

Looking at the world beyond their noses.

And their memory keeps alive long after they pass away...

Suu Kyi has spent 14 out of the past 20 years under house arrest.

“She rises early, meditates, and reads widely and eclectically, from the novels of John le Carré to Buddhist theology. She plays her piano, an instrument whose tuning has been distorted by the tropical heat.

"She is allowed no radio, let alone a telephone or television; as far as visitors go, she is lucky if she receives a monthly visit from her doctor...."
