It's not a question of politics, it's a question of payoffs. The only single payer program alive today is the flow of bucks from health industry lobbyists and prostitute legislators.

Their dismissal of it as a non-priority for the past couple decades tends to rob them of credibility when they rail against those who are trying to address the problems. Imagine what could be done if cooperation toward working in the best interests of the American people was the aim of both parties, rather than obstruction, misinformation, etc. If that sort of united goal existed I don't think we'd have to be reading articles like the one by Ruth Marcus. I feel sorry for those folks on the right who have genuine concerns and useful suggestions, because they get drowned out by the low signal to noise ratio that seems to be their parties main contribution to healthcare reform.

Funny how Bush the friend of Israel was always called a Nazi and yet he didn't come so close as Obamanation to hitting der Marx. I say Communism, you say National Socialism, let's call the whole thing off. There is nothing wrong with health care reform, there is something completely wrong with running up an unsustainable debt that crashes an economy. Maybe Obama thinks he is in a limo and that he doesn't have to have his hands on the wheel?
