Rosemary's story has since been richly detailed by other investigative writers in books et al, and is the story of a father who lobotomized his daughter because she was not his idea of a proper woman. Joe Kennedy was ruthless in his greed, and his maiming of another human being, his own child, is likely the greatest of all his many failures to be human and humane.
