Eunice's achievement was a definite giant leap forward, for she had the funds and favor of her beneficiary friends to do so. And she put it to work, year after year, was awarded and rewarded for it, by her peers, by those she helped.

But, perhaps even more remarkable, she managed to steer her own ship after growing up under one of the most monstrous, greedy, spurning of women, angry and unfaithful fathers, Joe Kennedy …who showed in his lobotomizing of his teenage daughter Rosemary, because he felt her willfulness and enthusiasms would bring an illicit pregnancy down on his carefullly constructed 'excelllent Catholic” face to the world… That Eunice did something to counterbalance her father's inhumanity, to help reverse how he, and others, thought about those who were different… in one generation. That seems the miracle.

There are thousands of others across our nation, whose names are not known, who have closed down storage facilities for humans thought to be 'less,' than other humans, who have build and on ragtag budgets and always begging for money, make group homes for people with certain needs, to live independently.
